ASD Pattinaggio Artistico AURORA Novi Ligure

Updated: May 19

Chrizia Rental Rooms is only a five-minute drive from ASD Pattinaggio Artistico Aurora, a club founded in April 1978 by Giovanni Parodi and named after the place where the athletes initially trained (weather permitting), Aurora Park in Novi Ligure.

After the birth of the club, competitive results were not long in coming, but there was a lack of a suitable facility where they could train. "We shuttled between Aurora Park, Castle Park, the Boccardo gym and the Itis gym. For a while we were even housed in the small room behind the Demicheli bar," recalls today Giovanni's daughter Cristina, 59, who was the team's coach. "When one of our athletes qualified for the Italian championships, before the competition we took her for some time to train in Genoa, so that she would become familiar with the spaces of a real skating rink," she says.

Over the years Giovanni Parodi devoted body and soul to creating a skating track that would give young female athletes a chance to practice the sport on a continuous and competitive basis, and in 1988, the skating track was built and opened in the area we now know as All Seasons.

Recently the city council of Novi Ligure named the Skating Track after its founder Giovanni Parodi, the competitive performances of ASD Artistic Skating Aurora continue with an escalation of victories and confirmations for athletes and coaches projecting the society into the honors of the local news and beyond.
