FORZA E VIRTU' 1892

Updated: May 19

Chrizia Affittacamere is a 5-minute drive from the FORZA E VIRTU' 1892 gymnastics society, based in Novi Ligure and founded on October 16, 1892 by two "Companies" of working men and women students of Novi Ligure driven by their sporting ideals, toward which a week later the society's charter is approved by the members' meeting. Immediately thereafter, affiliation with the Gymnastics Federation of Italy was requested.

Forza e Virtù then participated in all competitions held by the Federation, beginning with the 1895 competition in Rome.

Later the society added to gymnastics the sections of fencing, running, and the section devoted to hiking, cyclo-hiking, and cycling that would later give rise to the Veloce Club Novese. In 1898 the activity of the soccer section began, which later gave rise to the Novi Football Club and later the Unione Sportiva Novese.

Later the club reached the forefront in Italian artistic gymnastics, both men's and women's, winning the federal rankings in 1971 and 1972. Members of the national team in the 1970s were Giovanna Ventoso, Lucia Saviozzi, Barbara Gemme, and Patrizia Russoni.

Forza e Virtù won the Italian Serie B championship in 2009, gaining promotion to the A2 championship. In 2010 and 2011, the club participated in the 4 A2 trials, finishing both times in 3rd place; in 2012, the team composed of Arianna Rocca, Marta Novello, Carlotta Necchi, Giulia Gemme and Valentina Massone won the A1 Series.

Since 2009, Giulia Gemme, Carlotta Necchi and Arianna Rocca have participated in international competitions wearing the blue jersey.

On March 8, 2014, in Turin, the second leg of the 2014 Serie A championship, the club won third place, and its first podium finish in the top league.

Forza e Virtù was awarded the Stella d'oro for sporting merit in 1974, and was declared a Gymnastics School of the Gymnastics Federation of Italy, starting in 1992, renewing the title every four years for sporting merit. In 2012, to celebrate the club's 120th anniversary, it was awarded the "Torre d'Oro 2012" prize, and a philatelic cancellation was made. Forza e Virtù has 51 individual and team regional titles, 10 interregional titles, 4 national specialty titles, 1 national B Series team title in 2009 and 1 A2 Series title in 2012 and is considered a feather in the cap for the city of Novi Ligure.
